you'd tell all your friends, but they'd never believe you a painful misunderstanding the ghost of internet past the sun also rises

i've just begun a new phase, i'm tryin' these days.

i went to the bike co-op/big parade party at the abandoned buick dealership and it was SO VERY HIPSTER like you would not even believe. i had a really great time until i got tired and a guy took the mask i was wearing.

the mask was great. it had green yarn for hair and two huge, uneve eyeholes, and no other features except a big grin with weird teeth. i can't recall exactly about the details, but it definitely looked like a kindergartener made it. maybe one did.

the first band was hilarious because they were so generic and the space was really empty still when they played. then more people came and weezer emulation project played, and that was exactly how it sounds like it was.

the next band had a keytar and all the members are gay and were making sure that came across in their stage presence, and they were dressed REALLY eighties, and one of them had the sunglasses like elissa's that she posted a pic of. they did a very interesting rendition of get low.

i left after that because that was when a guy took my mask and eve went m.i.a. with her bike and it got really crowded and i started to get a little bored and tired and claustrophobic. all in all i was there for about three hours before it stopped being really fun. even then it was kind of fun, but i was tired and it was REALLY crowded and for some reason, drunk as i was, i was really paranoid about it getting busted and being trapped inside.

so i rode my bike back to dascomb and it was pouring rain and i was wearing a strapless dark blue mid calf length ralph lauren dress that i bought with my mom in south carolina last year (it seems so much longer ago than that!) and never wore. i like it. it has weird pockets that i didn't like, but they held my money and ID through all my drinking and dancing and didn't let them fall out and go into the hole in the floor.

speaking of which some poor guy lost his glasses and they got danced on. but they didn't break, just bent, and they didn't fall down the hole, which was narrow and looked like it went to the center of the earth and reminded me of the hole in the mine near the end of "desperation" by stephen king. (the only stephen king book i've ever read. i read it in two days when i was stuck on chincoteague island and it was freezing rain all week and my parents were boring and my siblings were boring and so i read this book i found laying around and it scared the shit out of me.)

anyway, i think i'm going to make a lot of masks and wear them to parties from now on.
